The ethnographic complex in Kavarna was opened in 1984. It was organized in an old Kavarna house, restored and turned into a museum of urban life.

The interior shows the life of a middle-class family at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The exposition reflects the characteristic features of the main ethnographic groups of the population.

In the exhibition hall there is also a characteristic ancient national dress. Manually made clothes testify to the exceptional talent of folk artists. The exposition includes fabrics, lace, embroidery. All national clothes have a rich decorative decoration of geometric and floral patterns. Women’s dresses are especially carefully executed and decorated.
